Established in the early 1960s, LeeMar's derived its name from two seamstresses, Lena and Mary, who started the business at its current location at 805 West 26th Street in Erie, Pennsylvania.

In 1981, Joni Sansone purchased the business and property. Joni and her staff successfully ran the business for nearly 25 years.

In 2000, Ann Chimenti joined the LeeMar's family as a bridal consultant. While she was a student at Edinboro, Ann worked closely with Joni and fell in love with her part-time job at LeeMar's. In August of 2005 after receiving her bachelors and masters degrees in Education, Ann purchased the business. Ann's love for the bridal industry and for fashion itself have brought a fresh approach to Erie's bridal market, while keeping the same quality of service and maintaining integrity of the LeeMar's name.
